As the pressure of exams and deadlines mounts, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. We understand the challenges you’re facing, and are committed to supporting your mental and emotional health during this demanding period.
The Student Support and Wellbeing Team have curated a range of resources designed to help you de-stress, recharge, and approach your studies with renewed focus.
Relaxation and reflection zone in firstpoint
For a dedicated space for relaxation and reflection, visit the wellbeing alcove in firstpoint. This designated “Relaxation Zone” offers a welcome escape from the intensity of study sessions. Here, you can find solace in mindfulness colouring, engage your mind with puzzles, or simply enjoy the peaceful ambiance.
A warming drink on a chilly day
To further enhance your wellbeing during this stressful time, don’t forget our “Fancy a Cuppa?” support sessions. Join us on Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th January, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM for a hot drink, complimentary biscuits, and the opportunity to connect with supportive staff and fellow students. These informal gatherings provide a valuable space for peer interaction and a much-needed break from the demands of your studies.
The benefits of a furry friend
We have long recognised the profound impact of animal companionship on stress reduction, and so we’re delighted to welcome back our “Pets As Therapy” dog visits. Research consistently demonstrates that interacting with these gentle creatures can significantly reduce anxiety, boost happiness, and provide invaluable social support. Even a brief encounter with a therapy dog can have a remarkable impact on your mood, energy levels, and overall stress perception. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the calming and uplifting presence of our canine friends.
Remember, prioritising your mental health is not a luxury but a necessity. The Student Support and Wellbeing Team is here to support you every step of the way. We encourage you to utilise these resources and remember that your well-being is just as important as your academic success. If you are struggling with life’s challenges, you can speak with our Student Life Advisers on a 1-2-1 basis. Email studentlife@worc.ac.uk to book an appointment.
