University Mental Health Day 2019

umhd19 bannerOn Tuesday 19th March 2019, Student Services, the Students’ Union and the University’s Mental Health Network are marking the annual University Mental Health Day. The day was officially on the 7th March this year, which fell during our Progression Week, so our own celebration was moved to the 19th.

There will be plenty going on between 10am and 2pm across the University on the 19th…

arles Hastings reception (City Campus)

  • Information stand and Fancy a Cuppa
    Grab some information and a free banana, write a message on our ‘elephant in the room’ and decorate or write messages on our #UWRocks. In addition, our regular Fancy a Cuppa session, usually held in firstpoint, will be happening on City campus on this day. Stop by for a drink and a chat with University staff and other students.

St John’s Campus

  • Edward Elgar reception
    Grab some information and a free banana from the stand, write a message on our ‘elephant in the room’ and decorate or write messages on our #UWRocks.
  • The Hangar
    Lots of activities happening here, including Fancy a Cuppa (moving from firstpoint for this date only), Pets as Therapy Dogs, Wellbeing Champions bake sale* and poetry competition, #UWRocks and a Crafternoon
  • Outside the SU
    The Off the Scale vintage clothing bus is back!

*All money raised from the bake sale will be split between Papyrus – a charity working to prevent suicide in young people – and the Pets as Therapy Dogs.
