Free bike security marking event this week

University staff and students who own bicycles are encouraged to bring their bikes along to the Main Reception at St John’s Campus on Thursday (October 10) to have them marked.

The event, organised by our on-site PCSOs, will take place between 2.30pm and 4.30pm and will involve applying a tamper resistant warning label with a unique QR code to your bike which can be scanned instantly with a smart phone. It’s aimed at deterring thieves and makes it easier for the police to return stolen bikes to their owners.

There’s no need to book and you will find the team in a gazebo just outside main reception. It takes a few minutes for the sticker to be attached and for your contact details to be taken down.
