University staff and students who own bicycles are encouraged to bring their bikes along to the Students’ Union Garden at St John’s Campus on Wednesday, May 8 to have them marked.
The event, organised by our on-site PCSOs, will take place between 1300-1500 and will involve applying a tamper resistant warning label with a unique QR code to your bike which can be scanned instantly with a smart phone.
It’s aimed at deterring thieves and makes it easier for the police to return stolen bikes to their owners. There’s no need to book and it takes a few minutes for the sticker to be attached and for your contact details to be taken down.
