Local greengrocers “Carl’s Fruit and Veg” will be back on campus on Tuesday 5th March 2024!
Due to technical difficulties, Carl was unable to reach campus on Tuesday 27th February, but we are expecting him next week!
We all know we should probably eat more fruits and vegetables, but sometimes it’s easy to forget why. Here’s a quick reminder:
1. Vitamin & Mineral Vault: Packed with essential nutrients like vitamin C, potassium, and fibre, fruits and veggies keep your body running smoothly and feeling strong
2. Disease Fighters: Studies show they can help lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, and even some cancers ️
3. Gut Happy: Fibre keeps your digestion on track, preventing constipation and promoting a healthy gut microbiome
4. Healthy balance: Low in calories and fat, fruits and veggies can help you feel fuller for longer, aiding you in your pursuit of a healthy diet
5. Flavour Fiesta: From sweet berries to crunchy carrots, there’s a delicious world of flavours to explore! So get creative and enjoy the taste of good health.
And now it’s even easier to get your fresh produce! Carl’s Fruit and Veg stall will be on the St John’s campus on Tuesday 5th March, with more dates planned after the Easter break. You’ll find them behind the Hines Building, next to the Students’ Union.
Aim for 5 portions a day, mix it up for maximum benefit, and enjoy the colourful world of fresh fruits and vegetables!
