University’s Unity Tree 2020

The Christmas trees on the St John’s Campus – at main reception in the Edward Elgar Building and in firstpoint in the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre – have been decorated in this year’s theme: unity.

The rainbow trees reflect the University of Worcester’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and equality. Their joyful colours represent placing inclusion and participation at the centre of our commitment to educational excellence. The different decorations and colours celebrate the diversity of the wider community that we are privileged to be a part of.

We are stronger together when we value the unique qualities of others and ourselves.

The decorations were all handmade by the University’s Wellbeing Champions.

The University’s tree at Worcester Cathedral is also decorated with the Unity theme.

A rainbow is beautiful not because it has different colours.
It is beautiful because those different colours shine together.
They don’t go away from each other.
They don’t boast of their supremacy.
They don’t try to overwhelm each other.
They complement each other to create beauty through the gloomy sky.
That is the power and magic of unity in diversity!
