St John’s Campus Car Parking

The start of teaching for all years commenced at the beginning of this week and as expected, demand for car parking spaces at St John’s Campus are at peak level from staff and students.  We understand the frustrations that some of you may have experienced this week at being unable to find a parking space on site.  The challenge to provide the number of car parking spaces required has been exacerbated due to the significant rainfall experienced earlier this week, meaning that we are unable to open our main grass overflow areas on campus and this has significantly reduced capacity.

Over the summer, we have increased our alternate parking areas at the Severn Campus to over 300 spaces and introduced a cheaper Severn Campus Permit (£50 per annum)  and we therefore encourage students to take advantage of this.  A convenient walking route to the Severn Gate entrance at the St John’s Campus is just 700m.  Please see the map below.

At this time of year, when the grass overflow parking is not able to be opened, it is likely that these signs will be displayed from approximately 9am and anyone arriving on site after this time may wish to go directly to the Severn Campus and park.

Please be assured that as soon as we are able, we will reopen the grassed areas at St John’s Campus.  When using these areas please do drive slowly to ensure that the damage to the surface is minimised.

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.

Kind regards

Mark Hughes
