The project scheme which offers students the chance to enhance their course and develop their own employability skills.
The Student as Academic Partners (SAP) projects scheme offers an opportunity for paid employment of £8.08 per hour plus £1.13 holiday pay for up to 100 hours per project (to be shared equally between students working on the project) to enable students to work in equal partnership with academic staff to strengthen the student learning experience at the University for the benefit of all. This year the scheme will focus in particular on the course experience.
The purpose of the programme is to develop collaboration between students and staff and a sense of shared ownership in the learning process. The scheme will employ students as active members of project teams based within the University’s departments. This year we will be funding a maximum of 25 projects.
Eligibility
Students must be eligible to work in the UK and registered on a UW course or programme during 2016/17 to be eligible for the scheme. The scheme is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Please note that there must be at least one student named on your application and all applications need a member of University staff (academic or professional support) named as a project lead.
In order to help develop your ideas here are some examples of possible themes:
- Evaluation of an innovation from a student perspective
- Development of an innovation or idea relating to learning and teaching
- Development or design of an assessment, learning resource or tool
- The development of course materials such as a guide for students about a particular course or module
- Research into innovative pedagogic practice including Technology Enhanced learning initiatives
