The General Election is now just around the corner and we wanted to let you know that you can now register to vote quickly and easily online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Young people, including students, are less likely to be registered to vote than those in other age-groups. Around 30% of 18-24 year olds are not registered to vote compared to less than 5% of those aged over 65.
We are keen that everyone eligible at the University of Worcester is able to vote, but if you want to make your voice heard in the General Election on 7 May, you must be registered by 20 April at the latest, so we would encourage you to take 5 minutes to do this now.
Remember that when registering you’ll need your National Insurance number. If you don’t know where to find this, you should be able to locate it in a number of places, including on a pay slip or on the red and blue card that was issued to you when you were first given your National Insurance number.
