Two of the main trades unions that represent staff working in universities, UCU and UNISON, will be taking national strike action on Tuesday 3rd December 2013. The action is being taken following the unions’ non-acceptance of the employers’ final national pay offer of an increase of 1%. The University will remain open on the day of action and all services including the Hive, Peirson and catering outlets will be available.
Please note that whilst we do not expect widespread disruption, there will be limited service at Firstpoint between 11am and 3pm.
It is also possible that some classes will be cancelled in cases where individuals who are members of the relevant trades union decide to take action.
