Industrial Action, Thursday 31st October

Three of the main trades unions that represent staff working in universities: UCU, UNISON and UNITE will be taking national strike action on Thursday 31st October 2013. The action is being taken following the unions’ non-acceptance of the employers’ final national pay offer of an increase of 1%. The University will remain open on the day of action and all services including the Hive, Peirson and catering outlets will be available. Please note that whilst we do not expect widespread disruption, there will be limited service at Firstpoint between 11am and 3pm. It is also possible that some classes will be cancelled in cases where individuals who are members of the relevant trades union decide to take action.  Where this occurs staff have been asked to apply the Class Cancellation Policy, which is available at: http://www.worcester.ac.uk/registryservices/documents/classcancellationpolicy.pdf

The University regrets any inconvenience caused.
