Significant Changes To Your University Skydrive Service


Microsoft have made changes to online services for education. This means your current SkyDrive accessed via the UW Student App Portal ( is no longer associated with your University student account and should be treated as separate personal storage.

Please Note : The University has no control over this change, this effects all Universities globally using this service.


FROM NOW : If you change your University student account password this WILL NOT change your SkyDrive password, and vice versa.

IT IS NOW YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MANAGE ACCESS TO THE SKYDRIVE SERVICE. Consequently, when you try to access your SkyDrive you may be prompted to add some additional security information to allow you to reset your Microsoft password online. If you are not prompted we still recommend you update your security settings, to do this please follow these steps:

  1. Login to SkyDrive via the UW Student App Portal (
  2. Click on your name in the top right-hand corner and select “Account Settings”skydrive
  3. Select “Security Info” from the list on the left and follow the on-screen prompts.
