As usual we will be welcoming hundreds of graduands and their guests for what is for them a very important occasion. We can expect even more pressure on car parking than usual because of our growth in student numbers.
With the exception of disabled drivers, staff and student car parking will not be permitted on campus on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th November between 7am and 5pm. Attendants will be placed at each of the two gates and will have instructions only to admit vehicles displaying car parking permits associated with awards ceremonies.
Anyone with no practical alternative but to travel to the campus by car is asked to use the car parks available at the Coppertops pub on Oldbury Road or at the Riverside Building on Hylton Road. If you do choose to park in a neighbouring road please ensure that you park sensibly and not in a way which causes an obstruction.
For those parking at Coppertops and at Riverside there will be a mini-bus service between these locations and the University between 8:00 and 10:00 and 16:00 and 18:00.
I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but I am sure you will appreciate the importance of making sure that everything runs smoothly for the special day for our graduating students and their families and friends.
Thank you for your co-operation.
