What:

Would you like a free afternoon’s training in new employability skills?

We would like some students to help us launch The Bright Futures Advanced Skills Academy in the UK. This will happen at the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) conference on Monday 4th of July.

Coming to this event will give you an unprecedented opportunity to raise your profile and network with some of the UKs leading graduate recruiters.

In preparation, we will be asking you to take part in a free training session covering 2 key skills, Goal Setting and Emotional Resilience, which will take place on Thursday 12th May at our offices in Cheltenham, beginning at 1pm and finishing before 4pm.

Places are limited. So if are free on both the 4th July and the 12th May, and you would like to take part in the next big thing in employability skills, please email Emily.henderson@brightfutures.co.uk

The skills session on Thursday 12th May in Cheltenham will focus on your development of the following skills:

Modern Life Skills – Emotional Resilience

You have most likely heard the expression “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” and you may well have experienced that in your own life. Clearly, some people have the ability to spring back from difficulties and trauma more successfully than others. Learning to be emotionally resilient can certainly be a very useful and this life skill will enable you to :

  • Analyse your reactions to everything
  • Embrace challenges and change
  • Be open to learning about yourself
  • Believe in positive outcomes
  • Maintain perspective

Modern Life Skills – Goal Setting

Goals unlock your positive mind and release energies and ideas for success and achievement. Without goals, you simply drift and flow on the currents of life. With goals, you fly like an arrow, straight and true to your target. Setting goals gives us direction, purpose and focus in our lives. This life skill will enable you to:

  • Embrace the benefits of what you want to achieve
  • Set goals that are personal to you and that you are committed to
  • Understand specifically what it is you want to achieve
  • Know how to measure your goals
  • Ensure that your goals are achievable
