Business Ideas Competition 2008/09

Prize fund of £1200 (dependent on number of entries)

Deadline for entries is 12noon, 5th December 2008

This competition is open to any Undergraduate or Postgraduate registered student of the University of Worcester.

You are asked to provide a document detailing your business idea in Word or PowerPoint (presentations only required from finalists) of a maximum of 1200 words.

Short listing of entries to go through to the final judging will take place on 8th December.  All entrants will be informed on that day as to whether they are through to the final judging stage on the 12th December 2008, where they will have to present their business idea to a panel of expert judges (10 minutes presentation and 10 minutes for questions from the panel).

The winner of the University of Worcester Bizcom will be expected to represent the University at the regional Bizcom final, where they will compete against other regional universities.  Details TBC.

Entries should include:

  • A brief desription of the business idea and why you think it would be successful.
  • What facilities, resources, finance the business would need to develop?
  • Who your customers would be, and how you would reach them, along with an indication of any market research that would need to be carried out.
  • How would the business idea be sustainable?

Individuals or groups can enter the competition.

(The Business Development Office reserves the right to make decisions regarding allocation of the prize fund).
