Under a Government funded scheme known as SPEED the University of Worcester is offering students the opportunity to start their own business. This opportunity is open to all students and offers support worth around £4,200 to include training, business accommodation, a business mentor, promotional support and cash to invest in equipment and advice for their business. The support is a grant and does not have to be repaid.

The deadline for applications is 21st November 2008 with interviews taking place in early December and the project commencing in January 2009. The application process is competitive and only 20 places are available in 2009.
SPEED has run at the University of Worcester for the last two years and has assisted 30 students to develop and launch their business ideas.
