A Witchy-Wellbeing Event for Halloween Week

As the nights grow longer and the air turns crisp, we’re excited to announce a special Halloween edition of our regular “Fancy a Cuppa?” event. This October, we’re combining the comfort of our usual hot drinks with the fun of seasonal crafting activities. Join us for creativity, connection, and Halloween cheer!

Crafting for Wellbeing: a time for treats, not tricks!

With the darker evenings and colder weather setting in, it’s more important than ever to take time for self-care and social connection. That’s why we’re offering two exciting crafting sessions alongside our usual hot drinks and biscuits. You’ll have the chance to:

  1. Paint Halloween characters
  2. Create spooky pom-poms
  3. Construct cut-out skeletons

The benefits of getting into the Craft!

Put away your caldrons, not that kind of craft! But engaging with crafting activities can have a positive effect on our mental health and overall wellbeing:

  • Stress Reduction: Focusing on a creative task can help lower stress levels and promote relaxation.
  • Mindfulness: Crafting encourages us to be present in the moment, a key aspect of mindfulness practice.
  • Social Connection: Crafting in a group setting fosters a sense of community and combats feelings of isolation.
  • Sense of Achievement: Completing a craft project boosts self-esteem and provides a sense of accomplishment.
  • Cognitive Function: Creative activities can help improve problem-solving skills and maintain cognitive flexibility.
Warmth in the Darkness

As the autumn chill sets in, it’s natural to feel a bit down or isolated. “Fancy a Cuppa?” offers a warm, welcoming space to combat those feelings. Whether you’re sipping on a hot chocolate, painting a friendly ghost, or chatting with fellow students, you’ll find comfort and connection here.  Take a break from your studies and join us for an evening of Halloween fun and wellbeing. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet new people, engage in some seasonal creativity, and give yourself a well-deserved break.

So don’t forget, we’ll be in firstpoint on Tuesday 29th and Thursday 31st October, between 1pm & 2pm.
