firstpoint’s five points about your student ID card…

POINT ONE: it’s an ID…

Your student ID card is your official proof that you are a student of University of Worcester. It is a good idea to have your ID card on you at all times when at University so you can be identified as a student. You will also use it as proof of ID for exams, trips, sports events and for visits to firstpoint.

If you lose or damage your card, you can order a replacement for £10. Visit the Student Cards Replacement webpage. In the meantime, there is a virtual version of your ID, available on your MyDay portal.

POINT TWO: printing on campus and at the Hive…

If you need to print on campus, you can scan your student card on the campus or library printers, this will bring up your account and allow you to choose the documents you want to print. You can add printing credit to your card with debit or credit cards at the kiosks next to the printers. If you want to use cash to top up your printing credit, you will need to visit the kiosks at the Hive.

For information about printing on campus, visit the IT webpages.

POINT THREE: borrowing at the library…

Your student card is also your library card, when you want to borrow books at The Hive. Using your student card, you can borrow up to 27 books from The Hive and also all Worcestershire County Council libraries. For details of what you can borrow and how long you can keep your loans, visit the Library Services webpages.

POINT FOUR: getting into halls…

If you live in University accommodation, your student card is often used to get access to your building.  Most buildings will have activation points at the front entrance, but you can always visit Security at the St John’s Campus and they can update your access if needed.

POINT FIVE: extra access…

If your lectures are based in a building which has restricted access, such as the Art House or Jenny Lind, your card can be enabled to give you specific access, as is appropriate.

You can also have 24-hour access to the Peirson Building added to your card, so you’ll be able to do some late-night studying!
